What it is
Brass Golden Tara - Special S'Bowl Set is a ready-to-play singing bowl set (19cm): a bowl with the accessories you need to start, so you can play it the day it arrives.
The owl was the companion of Athena, goddess of wisdom, and a bird of night magic in British folklore.
From the maker: This Brass Golden Tara special singing bowl set pairs elegant symbolism with a strong, resonant sound. The bowl is decorated with a finely detailed Golden Tara motif, giving the piece a calm, devotional presence while keeping the overall design balanced and refined.
Materials and size
Size: approximately 19cm. Allow for small variations between batches.
Traditional uses
Singing bowls are linked with the Himalayan region, including Nepal, Tibet and northern India, where metal bowls have long been made by hand-hammering or casting. In meditation practice, a bowl is struck at the start and end of a sitting, and the fading tone is used as a point of focus. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim.
How to use it
Rest the bowl on its cushion on a flat spot or your open palm.
Strike the side lightly with the mallet, then slowly circle the rim with steady pressure until the bowl begins to sing.
Keep your fingers off the walls of the bowl, which mute the sound.
Yoga idea: teachers often sound a bowl or bells to open savasana or to mark the close of class.
Home idea: a short sound practice after work is a simple way to mark the switch from work to rest.
Group idea: in sound baths, players space bowls of different sizes around the room for layered tones.
Care
Wipe with a dry, soft cloth after handling to remove fingerprints.
Who it suits
