What it is
Archangel Michael Sword Of Light Oracle Cards is a card deck for reflection and divination. Unlike tarot, oracle decks set their own number of cards and meanings, explained in the guidebook.
Angels as winged messengers appear in Jewish, Christian and Islamic tradition and are a popular symbol of guardianship.
From the maker: The Archangel Michael Sword of Light Oracle Cards are a deck by Radleigh Valentine, centred on Archangel Michael, who in Christian, Jewish and Islamic tradition is the archangel of courage and protection, often shown carrying a sword of light. The cards are designed for anyone who feels drawn to working with the angels, whether you are new to oracle decks or already have a collection.
Materials and size
Size: approximately 10cm. Allow for small variations between batches.
Traditional uses
Modern oracle decks often grow out of a theme, such as angels, the moon, animals or goddesses, and the artist’s imagery becomes the language of the reading. Many readers keep an oracle deck beside a tarot deck, drawing one oracle card to sum up a tarot spread. We share these as cultural traditions and personal beliefs only, never as health claims.
How to use it
At the new moon, draw a card as a theme for the month ahead and revisit it at the full moon.
Read the artwork first and the guidebook second; your own first impression is part of the practice.
Shuffle, draw one card and read its meaning in the guidebook.
Write down what it brings to mind for the day ahead.
Daily idea: draw a single card each morning and jot down one word it brings to mind.
Learning idea: work through the major arcana one card a day for 22 days.
Gifting idea: decks make lovely gifts; the folklore that you mustn't buy your own deck is just folklore.
Care
Keep the deck in its box away from damp.
Who it suits
A good choice for people who want a gentler start than tarot.
