Glossary
Glossary
The words on these pages, in plain English.
- Synodic month
The average time from one new moon to the next, about 29.53 days. Starseed UK uses that average, anchored to a published new moon in January 2000, to estimate the phase.
- Equinox
An instant when the Sun crosses the celestial equator. Day and night are nearly equal. This site lists the March and September equinoxes for 2026 in UTC.
- Solstice
An instant when the Sun reaches its furthest north or south declination. These are the longest and shortest days of the year in a given hemisphere.
- Major arcana
The 22 named cards in this site’s original deck, from the Fool to the World. The text was written for Starseed UK. It is not a copy of a published deck’s guidebook.
- Sun sign
The slice of the year, by date, that popular astrology calls your sign. The Zodiac Observatory lists those date ranges and says they are not a birth chart.
- Life-path number
A number some numerology books make by adding the digits of a birth date until one digit remains, pausing on 11, 22 or 33. The atelier shows that arithmetic.
- Dream image
A picture from a dream, such as water or a house, offered here as a question you can sit with. The Dream Library does not assign one meaning to everyone.
- Intention
A sentence you choose for a practice, a studio card, or a shop filter. On this site it is a way of looking, not a claim that a product will cause a result.
- Sample catalogue
The shop lists names and prices so the pages can be reviewed. They are placeholders until the owner confirms live products, stock, and payment.
