Materials and size

Rose Quartz is a pink, usually translucent variety of quartz, typically soft pink. It measures 7 on the Mohs hardness scale. Natural quartz; its pink colour comes from microscopic fibres of a dumortierite-like mineral.

Greek myth links rose quartz with Aphrodite and Eros, which is where its reputation as a love stone begins. Rose quartz is rarely transparent; a cloudy, milky look is normal and a sign of natural material.
