Use a heat-proof burner or ash catcher.
Ventilate the room and never leave it unattended.
Light a single stick at the start of a reading, journalling session or meditation and stop when it burns out: a natural timer of 30–45 minutes.
Try one scent for a week before switching, so you learn to recognise it.
Safety: always use a heat-proof holder on a stable surface, away from curtains, children and pets.
