What it is
Oracle of the Fairies Oracle Cards is a card deck for reflection and divination. Unlike tarot, oracle decks set their own number of cards and meanings, explained in the guidebook.
Fairies, the 'good folk' of British and Irish folklore, were said to dance in fairy rings and reward kindness.
From the maker: The Oracle of the Fairies card deck by Karen Kay includes a 44-card deck and 120 page guidebook. Beautifully presented in sliding box and illustrated by Ginger Kelly.
Materials and size
Size: approximately 13.7 x 10 x 3.5cm, weighing about 330g. Allow for small variations between batches.
Traditional uses
Many readers keep an oracle deck beside a tarot deck, drawing one oracle card to sum up a tarot spread. Card divination has many forms, from Lenormand to modern oracle decks; each deck defines its own system. We share these as cultural traditions and personal beliefs only, never as health claims.
How to use it
Read the artwork first and the guidebook second; your own first impression is part of the practice.
Shuffle, draw one card and read its meaning in the guidebook.
Write down what it brings to mind for the day ahead.
Try a three-card draw for a gentle check-in: what to keep, what to release, what to explore.
Daily idea: draw a single card each morning and jot down one word it brings to mind.
Learning idea: work through the major arcana one card a day for 22 days.
Gifting idea: decks make lovely gifts; the folklore that you mustn't buy your own deck is just folklore.
Care
Keep the deck in its box away from damp.
Who it suits
A good choice for people who want a gentler start than tarot.
