The Tower and The Star: tarot combination

What the pair means

This is the classic sequence of the major arcana: after the lightning of the Tower comes the calm of the Star. Together they say an upheaval leads to renewal. Something has broken open, and the space left behind lets hope, honesty and healing in.

The two cards

The Tower

Sudden change, revelation, awakening. Lightning strikes what was built on sand. Upheaval clears the ground for truth. Full meaning.

The Star

Hope, renewal, serenity. After the storm, the Star pours healing water. Hope is returning; trust the night sky. Full meaning.

In love

After a painful shake-up, a gentler, more honest connection becomes possible.

Work and money

A setback opens the door to work that suits you better.

Advice

Rest, then rebuild slowly. Hope is a practice.

Yes or no

Leans yes. Yes-or-no readings are a rough guide; the cards' story matters more than the verdict.

If a card is reversed

Reversed, the The Tower reads as: avoiding a necessary upheaval, or a change that is happening inwardly. Reversed, the The Star reads as: discouragement. Reconnect with what once gave you faith. A reversal softens, delays or turns the pair's message inward.
