In astrology
Neptune is linked with dreams, intuition and illusion. Its retrograde is said to lift fog and show things as they are.
We share astrology as tradition and for reflection, not as prediction.
The astronomy
Neptune orbits outside Earth's orbit. It looks retrograde when Earth overtakes it, around the time it is opposite the Sun in our sky, which is also when it is brightest and best placed to see.
Dates here are the 'stations', the moments the planet's apparent motion along the ecliptic stops and reverses, worked out with astronomy-engine to the nearest minute or so.
