What it is
Ouija Cat Backflow Incense Burner is a backflow burner: when a backflow cone is lit on top, the smoke flows down through the piece like a waterfall.
Black cats were the familiars of witches in British folklore; sailors and many in Britain still count a black cat crossing your path as good luck.
It is cast in resin and hand-painted, which keeps it light and allows fine detail; display it indoors.
From the maker: Make a bold statement with this curated skeleton cat backflow incense burner. With ouija inspired details, this piece is perfect for a mysterious, gothic aesthetic and is sure to be a standout piece and talking point in the home.
Materials and size
Size: approximately 15.3 x 12 x 10cm, weighing about 398g. Allow for small variations between batches.
Traditional uses
Backflow cones have a hollow core: the cooling smoke is heavier than air, so it sinks and pours over the burner's channels. Incense holders have taken many forms, from Chinese bronze censers to the boat-shaped ash catchers of Indian homes. We share these as cultural traditions and personal beliefs only, never as health claims.
How to use it
Never leave a lit flame unattended, and keep it away from curtains, children and pets.
Use backflow cones for the waterfall effect; ordinary cones and sticks smoke upward.
Stand on a heat-proof base away from draughts, which break up the flow of smoke.
Empty ash once cool.
Moon idea: the new moon is the traditional time for beginnings and the full moon for gratitude and release.
Evening idea: light it as you switch off screens for the night, a simple cue to wind down.
Safety: always use a heat-proof holder on a stable surface, away from curtains, children and pets.
Care
Wipe resin build-up with a damp cloth once cool; a cotton bud reaches small channels.
Who it suits
