What it is
Mystic Snake Pendulum Decision Maker is a gemstone pendulum on a chain, used for dowsing.
The serpent that sheds its skin is an ancient symbol of renewal, from the ouroboros to the staff of Asclepius.
From the maker: With a mystic snake design, this metal decision maker features a spherical pendulum that magically selects one of six responses. Simply ask your desired 'yes' or 'no' question and watch as the pendulum cycles through the possible outcomes and lands on your destiny.
Materials and size
Size: approximately 21 x 14.5 x 10cm, weighing about 65g. Allow for small variations between batches.
Traditional uses
Dowsing with a pendulum is a centuries-old divination practice; the swing of the weight is read as a yes, no or 'unclear' response to a question. Lots of practitioners treat the pendulum as a tool for reflection, a way to notice what they already feel about a decision. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim.
How to use it
Ask it to show you 'yes' and 'no' to learn its swing.
Ask simple, clear questions and treat the answer as a prompt for reflection.
Hold the chain between finger and thumb and let the weight settle.
Journalling idea: note the date you bought it and what drew you to it; collectors enjoy looking back on how a collection grew.
Shelf idea: group stones by colour, from deep to pale, for a display that reads like a gradient.
Meditation idea: rest it in an open palm and use its weight and temperature as a point of focus for five slow breaths.
Care
Store it in a pouch so the chain doesn't tangle.
