A mandala is a circular cosmic diagram from Hindu and Buddhist art; Tibetan monks create them in coloured sand and then sweep them away as a lesson in impermanence. White stands for new beginnings and cleansing, and can stand in for any other colour in candle magic. Styling: white is the most versatile finish, fitting minimal, Scandi and bohemian rooms alike. It is made from glazed ceramic, so wipe it clean rather than scrubbing and handle it with care. From the maker: This white ceramic oil burner features a cutout mandala design with a wood-effect ceramic base. Place fragrance oil or wax melts into the built-in dish with a standard tealight inside to fill the home with calming fragrance. Size: approximately 11 x 9.5 x 9.5cm, weighing about 445g. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) In modern home ritual, a favourite scent marks a change of mood, such as lighting the burner when work ends for the day. Scenting a room with warmed oils has ancient roots: Egyptian, Greek and Roman homes burned perfumed oils in clay lamps. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim. ## How to use - Never leave a lit flame unattended, and keep it away from curtains, children and pets. - Fill the dish with water, then add a few drops of oil, or drop one wax melt in the dish without water. - Light a tealight underneath and never let the dish run dry. - Stand it on a heat-proof spot; the dish gets hot. - Gifting idea: pair it with a matching crystal or a holder for a ready-made ritual gift. - Journalling idea: note the date, the moon phase and what you wished for, and look back a month later. - Storage: keep spares somewhere cool and dark so colours and scents stay fresh. ## Care - Let it cool fully before cleaning. For wax, freeze the dish for ten minutes and the wax pops out. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
