The crescent is the waxing or waning moon, a symbol of growth and change and of moon goddesses such as Selene and Diana. White stands for new beginnings and cleansing, and can stand in for any other colour in candle magic. Styling: white is the most versatile finish, fitting minimal, Scandi and bohemian rooms alike. It is made from glazed ceramic, so wipe it clean rather than scrubbing and handle it with care. From the maker: This white crescent moon-shaped oil burner is ideal for adding celestial magic to your home all year long. Just add your favourite fragrance oil for a moment of serenity. Size: approximately 9.5 x 8.5 x 7.5cm, weighing about 280g. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Scenting a room with warmed oils has ancient roots: Egyptian, Greek and Roman homes burned perfumed oils in clay lamps. In modern home ritual, a favourite scent marks a change of mood, such as lighting the burner when work ends for the day. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim. ## How to use - Stand it on a heat-proof base; the dish gets hot. - Never leave a lit flame unattended, and keep it away from curtains, children and pets. - Fill the dish with water, then add a few drops of oil, or drop one wax melt in the dish without water. - Light a tealight underneath and never let the dish run dry. - Evening idea: light it as you switch off screens for the night, a simple cue to wind down. - Safety: always use a heat-proof holder on a stable surface, away from curtains, children and pets. - Ventilation: a slightly open window keeps scent pleasant and smoke light. ## Care - Let it cool fully before cleaning. For wax, freeze the dish for ten minutes and the wax pops out. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
