Struck or circled around the rim with a mallet, it produces a sustained tone with layered overtones that slowly fades. The Flower of Life is a pattern of overlapping circles found carved on the Temple of Osiris at Abydos and drawn by Leonardo da Vinci; it is a symbol of the interconnection of all life. At around 21cm this is the large, statement option: a centrepiece for a dresser, altar or sound space. Large pieces hold a whole collection of stones or jewellery and give the deepest, fullest presence in a room. From the maker: Crafted in the sacred Tibetan style, this bowl features the sacred symbols, offering a gateway to inner balance, spiritual alignment, and enlightenment. It reflects the sacred artistry and dedication of Tibetan artisans. Also in this range (6 in total): 21cm - Om & Buddha, 16cm - 7 Chakra, 16cm - Bodhi Tree Buddha. Size: approximately 21cm. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Singing bowls are associated with the Himalayan region. Bowls made there have customarily been hand-hammered or cast from metal alloys, and many carry engraved mantras or symbols. The chakra system comes from Indian tantric and yogic traditions, which describe seven energy centres from the root to the crown, each traditionally given a colour. We share these as cultural traditions and personal beliefs only, never as health claims. ## How to use - Place the bowl on a cushion or your flat, open palm. - Tap the outside wall gently with the mallet to wake the bowl. - Practice tip: record yourself playing on your phone; it is the quickest way to hear whether your pressure is steady. - Neighbour tip: rim playing is quieter than striking if you live in a flat. - Gifting idea: a ready-to-play set is a thoughtful present for a yoga teacher or a friend starting meditation. ## Care - Avoid harsh polish on engraved or coloured finishes. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
