Struck or circled around the rim with a mallet, it produces a sustained tone with layered overtones that slowly fades. The seven-chakra design maps the energy centres of yogic tradition from root to crown, each with its own colour. At around 16cm this is the large, statement option: a centrepiece for a dresser, altar or sound space. Large pieces hold a whole collection of stones or jewellery and give the deepest, fullest presence in a room. From the maker: Crafted in the time-honoured Tibetan style, this bowl serves as a conduit to balance and align all chakras while creating an environment of harmony and serenity. Each bowl carries the essence of these profound teachings. The Tibetan Healing Engraved Bowl range comes in 6 versions. If 16cm - 7 Chakra isn't quite right, compare 16cm - Bodhi Tree Buddha or 16cm - Mantra or 21cm - 5 Buddhas. Size: approximately 16cm. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Singing bowls are connected with the Himalayan region. Bowls made there have by custom been hand-hammered or cast from metal alloys, and many carry engraved mantras or symbols. The chakra system comes from Indian tantric and yogic traditions, which describe seven energy centres from the root to the crown, each traditionally given a colour. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim. ## How to use - Stand the bowl on a cushion or your flat, open palm. - Tap the outside wall lightly with the mallet to wake the bowl. - Session idea: strike once at the start of a meditation and let the tone fade completely before you begin. - Yoga idea: teachers often sound a bowl or bells to open savasana or to mark the close of class. - Home idea: a short sound practice after work is a simple way to mark the switch from work to rest. ## Care - Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use; skin oils can mark the metal. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
