## Traditions (belief, not health claims)

Many households light incense at dusk, a custom shared by Hindu, Buddhist and Catholic devotion where evening prayer is marked with fragrant smoke. Burning incense is one of the oldest ritual acts: Egyptian temples burned kyphi, and frankincense and myrrh were prized trade goods across the ancient world. These are traditions and beliefs, described for interest, not health or medical claims.

## How to use

- Keep incense well away from smoke alarms, curtains and bookshelves.
- Set a simple intention, then light the incense and blow out the flame.
- Use a heat-proof burner or ash catcher.
- Ventilate the room and never leave it unattended.
- Storage: keep spares somewhere cool and dark so colours and scents stay fresh.
- Ritual idea: write your intention on a slip of paper, read it aloud, then light the candle or incense.
- Moon idea: the new moon is the traditional time for beginnings and the full moon for gratitude and release.
