In Japan, the incense ceremony kōdō treats fragrance as an art: practitioners speak of ‘listening’ to incense rather than smelling it. These are traditions and beliefs, described for interest, not health or medical claims. ## How to use - Ventilate the room and never leave it unattended. - Light a single stick at the start of a reading, journalling session or meditation and stop when it burns out: a natural timer of 30–45 minutes. - Try one scent for a week before switching, so you learn to recognise it. - Keep incense well away from smoke alarms, curtains and bookshelves. - Journalling idea: note the date, the moon phase and what you wished for, and look back a month later. - Storage: keep spares somewhere cool and dark so colours and scents stay fresh. - Ritual idea: write your intention on a slip of paper, read it aloud, then light the candle or incense. ## Care - Store sealed in a cool, dry rest to keep the fragrance fresh. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
