Many spell candles include crystal chips, herbs or a printed theme. White sage has been burned in Indigenous ceremonies of the Americas; in modern practice its smoke is associated with clearing a space. The fragrance is herbal, clean and camphor-like. The skull is the memento mori of Victorian and medieval art, a reminder to live fully, and a symbol of the ancestors at Samhain and the Day of the Dead. White stands for new beginnings and cleansing, and can stand in for any other colour in candle magic. Styling: white is the most versatile finish, fitting minimal, Scandi and bohemian rooms alike. From the maker: These detailed skull candles make perfect ornaments for decorating at parties, events or Halloween season. This display contains 12 candles with two different scent and colour variations; Black - Opium, White - White Sage. Size: approximately 8.5 x 21.5 x 31.5cm, weighing about 2560g. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Many practitioners time a candle to the moon, lighting it at the new moon for beginnings or the full moon for gratitude. Candle magic is one of the simplest folk-magic practices: a candle is chosen by colour or theme, an intention is set, and the candle is lit and left to burn safely. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim. ## How to use - If it contains crystal chips, retrieve them from the wax once cool. - Stand it on a heat-proof plate or holder on a stable base. - Trim the wick to around 5mm before lighting. - Burn it away from draughts, curtains, children and pets, and never leave it unattended. - Moon idea: the new moon is the traditional time for beginnings and the full moon for gratitude and release. - Evening idea: light it as you switch off screens for the night, a simple cue to wind down. - Safety: always use a heat-proof holder on a stable surface, away from curtains, children and pets. ## Care - Store candles flat, somewhere cool and out of sunlight so the colour doesn't fade. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
