## Description

Selenite Hex Bowl - 6cm is made from selenite, about 6cm, a smooth, silky-white crystal with a natural fibrous glow.

At around 6cm this is the small, palm-sized option: easy to tuck into a pocket, a pouch or a bedside drawer. Small pieces suit rings and earrings, a single tumble stone, travel kits and tight altar spaces.

The Selenite Hex Bowl range comes in 3 versions. If 6cm isn't quite right, compare 10cm or 15cm.

Selenite is a crystalline form of gypsum, soft enough to scratch with a fingernail, typically pearly white with a silky sheen. It measures 2 on the Mohs hardness scale. Natural gypsum.

The Cave of the Crystals in Naica, Mexico, holds selenite beams over 10 metres long.

Size: approximately 6cm. Natural material varies slightly in size, colour and markings.

## Traditions (belief, not health claims)

In modern crystal practice, selenite plates and bowls are used to cleanse or 'charge' other crystals and jewellery placed on them overnight, especially under a full moon. Selenite is named after Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon. In modern practice selenite plates and bowls are used to 'charge' or cleanse other crystals placed on them. In modern crystal tradition selenite is linked with the crown chakra and with Taurus and Cancer. These are traditions and beliefs, described for interest, not health or medical claims.

## How to use

- Stand other crystals or jewellery on it overnight as a cleansing ritual.
- Use it as a bright, moonlike accent on an altar or bedside table.
- It pairs traditionally with any crystal you want to rest on it.
- Handling tip: selenite can leave fine white dust; a soft dry paintbrush keeps it tidy.
- Display tip: put it on a felt pad or coaster to avoid scratches on both the stone and the furniture.
- Overnight ritual: lay rings, bracelets or tumble stones on it before bed and pick them up in the morning.

## Care

- Never wet selenite: it is water-soluble and will dissolve or cloud.
