From the maker: Selenite Block Lamps are perfect for all your customers who love esotericism or objects with virtues. These lamps are obtained from natural selenite stone, they are then cut in blocks and decorated by hand for an absolutely magnificent result! Selenite is a crystalline form of gypsum, soft enough to scratch with a fingernail, typically pearly white with a silky sheen. It measures 2 on the Mohs hardness scale. Natural gypsum. The Cave of the Crystals in Naica, Mexico, holds selenite beams over 10 metres long. Size: approximately 25cm. Natural material varies slightly in size, colour and markings. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Selenite takes its name from Selene, Greek goddess of the moon, because of its pearly sheen.
