The 'eyes' of the peacock feather symbolise watchfulness; in Hindu art the peacock is the mount of Kartikeya and linked with Krishna. Purple has been the colour of royalty and the spiritual since Tyrian dye cost more than gold; in candle and chakra tradition it is linked with the crown. Styling: purple sits well against grey, cream and brass, and looks rich in a dim, lamp-lit corner. From the maker: Beautiful large purple feather dreamcatcher with stunning peacock feathers and purple stitching. Size: approximately 58 x 22 x 3cm, weighing about 66g. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Dreamcatchers come from the Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) people, who hung a small woven hoop, the asabikeshiinh or 'spider', over a baby's cradle. In the traditional story, good dreams slip through the web and bad dreams are caught until morning light. The dreamcatcher spread far beyond its origins in the 1960s and 70s; many people now hang one as a reminder of restful nights, and learning the Ojibwe story is a respectful place to start. These are traditions and beliefs, described for interest, not health or medical claims. ## How to use - Hang it above a bed, in a window or anywhere it can move with care in the air. - Keep it away from candles and heat sources: feathers and thread are flammable. - Mini dreamcatchers suit car mirrors, bags and party favours. - Home idea: a well-chosen object by the door or on a mantelpiece sets the tone of a room. - Gifting idea: a practical, beautiful item suits housewarmings and new-job presents. - Ritual idea: give the item a regular moment in your day, such as morning coffee or evening journalling. ## Care - Dust softly with a hairdryer on a cool setting or a fine brush; do not wash. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
