## Description

Large Charging Plate 18cm - Feng Shui is made from selenite, about 18cm, a fine, silky-white crystal with a natural fibrous glow.

Feng shui is the Chinese tradition of arranging space in harmony with qi; its symbols include the bagua and yin-yang.

At around 18cm this is the large, statement option: a centrepiece for a dresser, altar or sound space. Large pieces hold a whole collection of stones or jewellery and give the deepest, fullest presence in a room.

Also in this range (2 in total): Sacred Geometry.

Selenite is a crystalline form of gypsum, soft enough to scratch with a fingernail, typically pearly white with a silky sheen. It measures 2 on the Mohs hardness scale. Natural gypsum.

The Cave of the Crystals in Naica, Mexico, holds selenite beams over 10 metres long.

Size: approximately 18cm. Natural material varies slightly in size, colour and markings.

## Traditions (belief, not health claims)

Selenite takes its name from Selene, Greek goddess of the moon, because of its pearly sheen. Selenite is named after Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon. In modern practice selenite plates and bowls are used to 'charge' or cleanse other crystals placed on them. In modern crystal tradition selenite is linked with the crown chakra and with Taurus and Cancer. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim.

## How to use

- Set other crystals or jewellery on it overnight as a cleansing ritual.
- Use it as a bright, moonlike accent on an altar or bedside table.
- It pairs traditionally with any crystal you want to rest on it.
- Overnight ritual: lay rings, bracelets or tumble stones on it before bed and pick them up in the morning.
- Lighting idea: selenite glows softly when backlit, so try it near a lamp or candle (never touching the flame).
- Entrance idea: some households keep a selenite piece by the front door as a symbol of a calm threshold.

## Care

- Never wet selenite: it is water-soluble and will dissolve or cloud.
