Struck or circled around the rim with a mallet, it produces a sustained tone with layered overtones that slowly fades. A seated yogi figure reflects the meditative roots of the bowl tradition. At around 14cm this is the large, statement option: a centrepiece for a dresser, altar or sound space. Large pieces hold a whole collection of stones or jewellery and give the deepest, fullest presence in a room. From the maker: Hand Beaten & Engraved Singing Bowl Gift Set beautifully blend artistic craftsmanship with mesmerising sound. This set makes a delightful addition to your collection, meticulously crafted and adorned with intricate designs. This is one of 6 options in the Hand Beaten & Engraved Singing Bowl Gift Set range; nearby choices include 14cm - Flower of Life, 14cm - Green Tara, 14cm - Lotus Flower. Size: approximately 14cm. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) In meditation and sound practice, the bowl's fading tone is used as a focal point, and bowls are often played at the beginning and end of a session. We share these as cultural traditions and personal beliefs only, never as health claims. ## How to use - Tap the outside wall with care with the mallet to wake the bowl. - Circle the rim slowly with even pressure; once it starts to sing, keep the speed steady. - Display idea: between sessions, a bowl on its cushion makes a striking shelf or altar piece. - Session idea: strike once at the start of a meditation and let the tone fade completely before you begin. - Yoga idea: teachers often sound a bowl or bells to open savasana or to mark the close of class. ## Care - Store somewhere dry and away from hard objects that could dent the rim. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
