Struck or circled around the rim with a mallet, it produces a sustained tone with layered overtones that slowly fades. The lotus grows from mud to bloom clean on the water, which is why it symbolises purity and awakening in Buddhist and Hindu art. At around 14cm this is the large, statement option: a centrepiece for a dresser, altar or sound space. Large pieces hold a whole collection of stones or jewellery and give the deepest, fullest presence in a room. From the maker: Hand Beaten and Engraved Singing Bowl Gift Set makes a great addition to your collection. Crafted with attention to detail and embellished with intricate designs, this set comprises a 14cm singing bowl, a mallet, a plush cushion, and an elegant pouch. This is one of 6 options in the Hand Beaten & Engraved Singing Bowl Gift Set range; nearby choices include 14cm - Round Medallions, 14cm - Teachings Buddha, 14cm - Yogi. Size: approximately 14cm. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Singing bowls are connected with the Himalayan region. Bowls made there have by custom been hand-hammered or cast from metal alloys, and many carry engraved mantras or symbols. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim. ## How to use - Circle the rim slowly with even pressure; once it starts to sing, keep the speed steady. - For a softer sound, strike rather than rub, and let each tone fade fully. - Gifting idea: a ready-to-play set is a thoughtful present for a yoga teacher or a friend starting meditation. - Display idea: between sessions, a bowl on its cushion makes a striking shelf or altar piece. - Session idea: strike once at the start of a meditation and let the tone fade completely before you begin. ## Care - Store somewhere dry and away from hard objects that could dent the rim. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
