From the maker: Singing bowls are a beautiful and unique instrument that can bring a sense of peace and tranquillity to those who use them. As you mentioned, they are a type of bell that is designed to be played by striking or rubbing the sides and rim of the bowl. Size: approximately 9 x 5cm. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Singing bowls are associated with the Himalayan region, including Nepal, Tibet and northern India, where metal bowls have long been made by hand-hammering or casting. In meditation practice, a bowl is struck at the start and end of a sitting, and the fading tone is used as a point of focus. We share these as cultural traditions and personal beliefs only, never as health claims. ## How to use - Rest the bowl on its cushion on a flat surface or your open palm. - Strike the side with care with the mallet, then slowly circle the rim with steady pressure until the bowl begins to sing. - Keep your fingers off the walls of the bowl, which mute the sound. - Session idea: strike once at the start of a meditation and let the tone fade completely before you begin. - Yoga idea: teachers often sound a bowl or bells to open savasana or to mark the close of class. - Home idea: a short sound practice after work is a simple way to mark the switch from work to rest. ## Care - Wipe with a dry, gentle cloth after handling to remove fingerprints. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days. UK addresses only. - Returns: You can cancel within 14 days of delivery under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations; email hello@starseeduk.co.uk to arrange a return and we refund within 14 days of receiving it back. - Payment: Payment is by debit or credit card (and the wallets Shopify supports) through secure Shopify checkout. ## Questions and answers (17) ### What is the Flower Of Life Sing Bowl Set used for?
