Struck or circled around the rim with a mallet, it produces a sustained tone with layered overtones that slowly fades. Om is the sacred syllable of Hindu and Buddhist tradition, said to be the sound of the universe; paired with the Buddha it joins sound and stillness. At around 16cm this is the large, statement option: a centrepiece for a dresser, altar or sound space. Large pieces hold a whole collection of stones or jewellery and give the deepest, fullest presence in a room. We share these as cultural traditions and personal beliefs only, never as health claims. ## How to use - Tap the outside wall gently with the mallet to wake the bowl. - Circle the rim slowly with even pressure; once it starts to sing, keep the speed steady. - Group idea: in sound baths, players space bowls of different sizes around the room for layered tones. - Practice tip: record yourself playing on your phone; it is the quickest way to hear whether your pressure is steady. - Neighbour tip: rim playing is quieter than striking if you live in a flat. ## Care - Avoid harsh polish on engraved or coloured finishes. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
