African amethyst is often a deeper, more saturated purple than Brazilian material. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) This is a belief and an everyday ritual, not a health claim. Its name comes from the Greek amethystos, 'not intoxicated', and in older European tradition it was carried as a stone of sobriety and calm thinking. Today it is one of the most popular stones for a quiet corner or meditation shelf. In modern crystal tradition amethyst is linked with the crown and third eye chakra and with Pisces, Aquarius and Virgo. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim. ## How to use - Hand wash only. - Fill with water as you would any bottle; the crystal stays in its own sealed section. - It pairs traditionally with selenite or clear quartz. - Care idea: dust regularly and keep it away from direct heat and damp. - Display idea: odd numbers of objects (one, three or five) look most natural on a shelf. - Storage idea: a box or chest keeps cards, crystals and keepsakes together and dust-free. ## Care - Wipe with a gentle, slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away; keep away from soaps, salt and long soaks. Strong sunlight can fade amethyst over time, so display it out of direct sun. - Glass can break if dropped. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
