## Description

Chakra Singing Bowl - Third Eye is a metal singing bowl. Struck or circled around the rim with a mallet, it produces a sustained tone with layered overtones that slowly fades.

The Third Eye chakra, Ajna in Sanskrit, sits at the brow, between the eyes in yogic tradition and is associated with intuition, imagination and insight. Its traditional colour is indigo, its element is light and its seed sound (bija mantra) is OM (or KSHAM).

From the maker: Chakra Singing Bowls by Ancient Wisdom Dropshipping, Third Eye Chakra located in the centre of the forehead above the eyebrows. Its function is seeing intuiting.

The Chakra Singing Bowl range comes in 7 versions. If Third Eye isn't quite right, compare Throat or Crown or Heart.

Tibetan Sing Bowls Sets. One singing bowl.

## Traditions (belief, not health claims)

In meditation and sound practice, the bowl's fading tone is used as a focal point, and bowls are frequently played at the beginning and end of a session. The chakra system comes from Indian tantric and yogic traditions, which describe seven energy centres from the root to the crown, each traditionally given a colour. We share these as cultural traditions and personal beliefs only, never as health claims.

## How to use

- To work with the Third Eye Chakra, many practitioners play or place it while focusing on the brow, between the eyes.
- Tap the outside wall lightly with the mallet to wake the bowl.
- Circle the rim slowly with even pressure; once it starts to sing, keep the speed steady.
- Display idea: between sessions, a bowl on its cushion makes a striking shelf or altar piece.
- Session idea: strike once at the start of a meditation and let the tone fade completely before you begin.
- Yoga idea: teachers often sound a bowl or bells to open savasana or to mark the close of class.

## Care

- Store somewhere dry and away from hard objects that could dent the rim.
