## Description

Buddha Singing Bowl Set is a ready-to-play singing bowl set (10.7 x 6cm): a bowl with the accessories you need to start, so you can play it the day it arrives.

The owl was the companion of Athena, goddess of wisdom, and a bird of night magic in British folklore.

The Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, taught in northern India around the 5th century BCE. Statues show him in mudras, hand gestures that each carry a meaning, such as touching the earth or turning the wheel of the teachings.

From the maker: This compact Tibetan singing bowl features Buddha imagery in striking black and orange. Hand-beaten by Himalayan artisans using traditional methods, it produces soothing, harmonious tones for meditation and everyday mindfulness.

Size: approximately 10.7 x 6cm, weighing about 400g. Allow for small variations between batches.

## Traditions (belief, not health claims)

In meditation practice, a bowl is struck at the start and end of a sitting, and the fading tone is used as a point of focus. Singing bowls are linked with the Himalayan region, including Nepal, Tibet and northern India, where metal bowls have long been made by hand-hammering or casting. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim.

## How to use

- Keep your fingers off the walls of the bowl, which mute the sound.
- Rest the bowl on its cushion on a flat spot or your open palm.
- Strike the side lightly with the mallet, then slowly circle the rim with steady pressure until the bowl begins to sing.
- Yoga idea: teachers often sound a bowl or bells to open savasana or to mark the close of class.
- Home idea: a short sound practice after work is a simple way to mark the switch from work to rest.
- Group idea: in sound baths, players space bowls of different sizes around the room for layered tones.

## Care

- Wipe with a dry, soft cloth after handling to remove fingerprints.
