It is cast in resin and hand-painted, which keeps it light and allows fine detail; display it indoors. The Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, taught in northern India around the 5th century BCE. Statues show him in mudras, hand gestures that each carry a meaning, such as touching the earth or turning the wheel of the teachings. From the maker: An intricate and captivating backflow incense burner in a Bronze Buddha and Lotus Leaf design. When the cone is lit the smoke from the cone cascades downwards in a mesmerising waterfall effect to pool at the bottom. Size: approximately 13.5 x 11 x 14cm, weighing about 450g. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Backflow cones have a hollow core: the cooling smoke is heavier than air, so it sinks and pours over the burner's channels. Incense holders have taken many forms, from Chinese bronze censers to the boat-shaped ash catchers of Indian homes. We share these as cultural traditions and personal beliefs only, never as health claims. ## How to use - Place on a heat-proof surface away from draughts, which break up the flow of smoke. - Empty ash once cool. - Never leave a lit flame unattended, and keep it away from curtains, children and pets. - Use backflow cones for the waterfall effect; ordinary cones and sticks smoke upward. - Safety: always use a heat-proof holder on a stable surface, away from curtains, children and pets. - Ventilation: a slightly open window keeps scent pleasant and smoke light. - Gifting idea: pair it with a matching crystal or a holder for a ready-made ritual gift. ## Care - Wipe resin build-up with a damp cloth once cool; a cotton bud reaches small channels. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
