The owl was the companion of Athena, goddess of wisdom, and a bird of night magic in British folklore. Tara is a female bodhisattva of Tibetan Buddhism associated with compassion and protection. At around 14cm this is the large, statement option: a centrepiece for a dresser, altar or sound space. Large pieces hold a whole collection of stones or jewellery and give the deepest, fullest presence in a room. From the maker: This Brass Golden Tara special singing bowl set makes a perfect Tibetan-style gift. Tara is a much-loved figure in Buddhist tradition, associated with compassion, and the set arrives in a nice padded box. Also in this range (2 in total): Special S'Bowl Set. Size: approximately 14 x 14cm. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Singing bowls are connected with the Himalayan region, including Nepal, Tibet and northern India, where metal bowls have long been made by hand-hammering or casting. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim. ## How to use - Rest the bowl on its cushion on a flat base or your open palm. - Strike the side softly with the mallet, then slowly circle the rim with steady pressure until the bowl begins to sing. - Session idea: strike once at the start of a meditation and let the tone fade completely before you begin. - Yoga idea: teachers often sound a bowl or bells to open savasana or to mark the close of class. - Home idea: a short sound practice after work is a simple way to mark the switch from work to rest. ## Care - Wipe with a dry, smooth cloth after handling to remove fingerprints. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days. UK addresses only. - Returns: You can cancel within 14 days of delivery under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations; email hello@starseeduk.co.uk to arrange a return and we refund within 14 days of receiving it back. - Payment: Payment is by debit or credit card (and the wallets Shopify supports) through secure Shopify checkout. ## Other versions - [Brass Golden Tara - Special S'Bowl Set](https://www.starseeduk.co.uk/products/brass-golden-tara-special-sbowl-set025): £79.20 ## Questions and answers (14) ### What is the Brass Golden Tara - Special S'Bowl Set used for?
