Black is the traditional colour of protection and of banishing what is unwanted. Styling: black looks dramatic on a gothic altar and crisp against white walls. It is made from glazed ceramic, so wipe it clean rather than scrubbing and handle it with care. From the maker: Add a bewitching touch to your space with this black ceramic oil burner shaped like a pair of classic witch boots, complete with star cut-outs that glow when in use. Simply place a single standard tealight in the space at the back and add a few drops of diluted fragrance oil in the bowl to fill the room with your favourite scent. Size: approximately 14 x 11.5 x 14.5cm, weighing about 490g. Allow for small variations between batches. ## Traditions (belief, not health claims) Scenting a room with warmed oils has ancient roots: Egyptian, Greek and Roman homes burned perfumed oils in clay lamps. In modern home ritual, a favourite scent marks a change of mood, such as lighting the burner when work ends for the day. We share these as cultural traditions and personal beliefs only, never as health claims. ## How to use - Fill the dish with water, then add a few drops of oil, or drop one wax melt in the dish without water. - Light a tealight underneath and never let the dish run dry. - Stand it on a heat-proof surface; the dish gets hot. - Never leave a lit flame unattended, and keep it away from curtains, children and pets. - Ritual idea: write your intention on a slip of paper, read it aloud, then light the candle or incense. - Moon idea: the new moon is the traditional time for beginnings and the full moon for gratitude and release. - Evening idea: light it as you switch off screens for the night, a simple cue to wind down. ## Care - Let it cool fully before cleaning. For wax, freeze the dish for ten minutes and the wax pops out. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
