In Japan, the incense ceremony kōdō treats fragrance as an art: practitioners speak of ‘listening’ to incense rather than smelling it. Roman soldiers are said to have carried tiger's eye for courage, and it remains associated with confidence and focus. Traditional meanings are offered for interest and reflection, not as a health claim. ## How to use - Ventilate the room and never leave it unattended. - Light a single stick at the start of a reading, journalling session or meditation and stop when it burns out: a natural timer of 30–45 minutes. - Try one scent for a week before switching, so you learn to recognise it. - Keep incense well away from smoke alarms, curtains and bookshelves. - Journalling idea: note the date, the moon phase and what you wished for, and look back a month later. - Storage: keep spares somewhere cool and dark so colours and scents stay fresh. - Ritual idea: write your intention on a slip of paper, read it aloud, then light the candle or incense. ## Care - Store sealed in a cool, dry rest to keep the fragrance fresh. ## Policies - Delivery: UK delivery £3.95, free over £40, 2–5 working days.
