See [altar set-up guide](https://www.starseeduk.co.uk/guides/witchy-altar-setup) and our [ritual builder](https://www.starseeduk.co.uk/ritual-builder). Customs vary between families and traditions. **What goes on a Yule altar?** Traditional Yule altar items include evergreens, red and gold candles, pine cones, a sun symbol, oranges or spices, and seasonal stones such as garnet or citrine. See [altar set-up guide](https://www.starseeduk.co.uk/guides/witchy-altar-setup) and our [ritual builder](https://www.starseeduk.co.uk/ritual-builder). Customs vary between families and traditions. **What is a simple Christmas Eve ritual?** A simple Christmas Eve custom is to light a candle, name three things you are grateful for this year and one hope for the next, then let the candle burn down safely while you sit with it. See [altar set-up guide](https://www.starseeduk.co.uk/guides/witchy-altar-setup) and our [ritual builder](https://www.starseeduk.co.uk/ritual-builder). **What is a new year intention ritual?** Write down what you want to leave behind and what you want to welcome, keep the second list somewhere safe and revisit it as the year goes on. See [altar set-up guide](https://www.starseeduk.co.uk/guides/witchy-altar-setup) and our [ritual builder](https://www.starseeduk.co.uk/ritual-builder). Customs vary between families and traditions. **Can I put crystals on a Christmas altar?** Yes. Seasonal colours work well: garnet and red jasper for red, green aventurine for green, citrine for gold and clear quartz or selenite for white.
