## Telling look-alikes apart

Colour alone rarely identifies a stone. Hardness, lustre, weight and how light passes through all help. Dyed stones are common: honest sellers label them. When in doubt, ask where a stone came from.

## Colour in crystal tradition

Modern crystal practice links colours with the [chakras](https://www.starseeduk.co.uk/chakras/root), and many people simply choose the colour they are drawn to. These are traditions, not health claims.
